Life after Wood Badge? Huh? I got my Beads and did my time. Yes, it is true. There is life after Wood Badge. Some might travel to Philmont and take the Philmont Leadership Challenge. However, if you are not able to go to Philmont for this course you can write another set of tickets using the same set of items used in creating the ones that got the beads this time around.
I have written several tickets. Some for Scouting, some for work and others for family and personal goals. In an older post of mine, I wrote tickets for the District and Pack.
Currently, I have a few Scout related ones that I am working on.
The main ticket is to get as many Adults in the Troop registered and Trained as Merit Badge Counselors. Because of my position within the District and a Trainer, I was able to train eight Adults and also started to update the records on myscouting.org. Paperwork is taking a bit longer only because it is paperwork.
The other item is a spin-off of how to track who is Trained for their position, courses taken and what Merit Badge Counselor is offering what MB. Currently we are getting scoutbook.com online and ready to go. Pretty interesting program.
For my Cubscout Roundtable Commissioner position, I have worked the items to help me earn the Arrowhead Award for the position. I also put on a breakout session at Roundtable on Ham Radio. Which is slowly turning into an idea to put a Ham Radio/Emergency event within the District for Jamboree on the Air.
So, to those who are completing their Tickets and getting their Beads. Find your next ticket item and make it happen.
