Test for Echo

This weekend I was able to spend time setting up my Yeasu 817ND HF Ham Radio.   I recently bought a Buddiepole Antenna.  Both are portable and pretty simple to use.  I have not worked with the 817ND for a while since I had lost interest for the most part.

This year I am working to make it a goal to learn more and get out more with it.    It is also my goal to be the Radio Merit Badge Counselor so,  I need to brush up.   Here is a quick video of working the 40m Band.

I have created a Facebook Page about Scouting & Ham Radio if you would like to follow.

I have my licence and have done nothing with it other than purchase a 5 W handheld to carry when hiking in case of emergency. I also bought a J-pole antenna. The antenna is collecting dust. I really need to do something. I am still trying to learn Morse Code.

Get out and use it. Teach the Radio MB. If you use it when hiking and with the scouts you will get better. 73 K7RUB. You can even use it with Cubscouts. Total fun!!!
